Open Letter from Jalen Milroe to Arch Manning, Fans, and the Alabama Football Community
Dear Arch, Fans, and the Alabama Football Family,
I write this letter with a heart full of gratitude and respect, not only for the opportunity to represent the University of Alabama but for the community that has embraced me and my journey. As a quarterback at Alabama, I’ve been given the incredible honor to wear the Crimson and White, a privilege I will never take for granted. And as we look forward to the future, particularly with Arch Manning joining us, I want to share my thoughts with all of you, the fans who make this place so special, and my fellow teammates who work hard every day to carry on the legacy of this program.
Arch, I’ve seen the hype, I’ve heard the chatter, and I know what it means to step into shoes as big as yours. You come from a lineage of greats, and with that comes an immense amount of pressure. But let me tell you this—you don’t have to carry that weight alone. From one quarterback to another, I can promise you that this Alabama family is more than just a team; it’s a brotherhood. It’s a place where you will grow, not just as a player, but as a person. You have all the tools to succeed, and I have no doubt you will add to the great tradition of quarterbacks here at Alabama.
As for the fans, your support means everything to us. You stand as the backbone of this program, always there through every win and every loss. The love and passion you show for this team is what fuels us. I’ve experienced that energy firsthand, from the rowdy tailgates to the electric atmosphere in Bryant-Denny Stadium. It’s unmatched. Your belief in Alabama football and in each of us gives us the courage to go out there and give everything we have. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to connect with so many of you, whether it’s through social media, in the stands, or around campus. It’s a bond that goes beyond football, and I’m proud to be part of this community.
To my teammates, you guys are the reason I push myself every single day. The camaraderie we share in the locker room, the bond we have on the field, and the drive we have to be the best—those are the things that make Alabama football different. We are a family, a unit that supports each other through thick and thin. I’ve seen what true leadership looks like, and it’s in each one of you, regardless of position. Together, we’ve built something that no one can take from us. And as we continue to build toward greatness, I know that we will carry this program into a new era with strength, resilience, and unity.
To the entire Alabama football community, I want to say thank you. Thank you for the opportunities you’ve given me, the support you’ve shown me, and for believing in me. The journey is far from over, and we have so much more to achieve. We are Alabama football, and we’ll keep striving for excellence in everything we do. I know that Arch, the incoming recruits, and all of us will continue to carry the torch and leave our mark on this storied program.
