An Emotional Letter from Dylan Brown to Mitch Moses
Dear Mitch,
I’ve spent some time thinking about this, and I felt it was important to put my feelings into words. I hope you understand how much you mean to not just me, but to this entire team, this club, and the fans. I need to tell you how much you’ve impacted my career and why you’re one of the most important figures at the Eels right now.
Mitch, when I first arrived at Parramatta, I was just starting out. I was learning, growing, and trying to find my place in the NRL. And from day one, you were there, leading by example. You always had my back on the field, and that’s something that I’ll never forget. But more than that, you’ve been a mentor to me off the field as well. You showed me what it means to be a professional, how to approach each game, and how to handle the pressure that comes with playing at the highest level.
I know the rumors are out there. I can’t help but feel the weight of it. The idea that you might leave us—after everything you’ve done for this team—it’s something I just can’t imagine. We need you, Mitch. You’re one of our leaders, and that role means more than just what happens on the field. You bring so much energy to the locker room, and the way you drive us in training is something that’s been the foundation of our success.
There’s a reason why we’ve been able to compete with the best. And it’s not just because of talent or hard work; it’s because of the leadership you bring. The way you rally us when things get tough, the way you take control when the game is on the line—it’s irreplaceable. We are a team, but we are a team because you lead us. You’re our general on the field. Your composure, your decision-making, your ability to make things happen—that’s the stuff that inspires us all to step up.
I know there’s been a lot of talk recently, but I need you to know this: The Eels are nothing without you. I’m not just talking about your skill or your talent, which we all know is world-class. I’m talking about your heart, your spirit, and the leadership you give us. You’ve given everything to this club, Mitch. Every time you pull on that blue and gold jersey, you give it your all. We see that, we feel that, and we appreciate that more than you’ll ever know.
So, I’m asking you, as one of your teammates, as a friend, please don’t go. We still need you here. We need you to help lead us to that next level, to push us toward the glory we’ve been chasing for so long. You’ve been a huge part of this journey, and I believe we’ve got so much more to achieve together.
I know the decision you’re facing isn’t an easy one, but please understand that you’ve made a massive impact here. We want to continue this journey with you, Mitch. The Eels aren’t the same without you. You’ve helped us build something special, and we need you to be part of it for as long as possible.
Whatever happens, I’ll always be grateful for everything you’ve done, not just for me, but for the entire team. You’ve been a leader, a brother, and a friend. I hope you’ll stay with us and help us continue this amazing ride. We still have so much to achieve, and we need you to be a part of it.
Take care of yourself, and know that no matter what, you’ll always have the support of this team.
With respect and admiration,
Dylan Brown
