AC/DC Rock Band Legends Kick Off Their Final World Tour Right Here in Vikings Country Tonight!

Minneapolis, MN – Rock history is being made tonight as the iconic band AC/DC storms the stage at U.S. Bank Stadium, launching their long-awaited and emotional Final World Tour. Known for their thunderous riffs, electrifying performances, and unforgettable anthems, the Aussie rockers are choosing “Vikings Country” to ignite what promises to be an explosive farewell to the road.

After more than five decades of dominating the global rock scene, AC/DC’s decision to start their last world tour in Minneapolis is a nod to the city’s passionate fan base and legendary live music culture. The band last played in Minnesota in 2016, and their return tonight has stirred a frenzy across the Twin Cities and beyond.

The “Power Up” Era Lives On

Dubbed the Power Up Tour, named after their 2020 chart-topping album, this final journey around the globe is a celebration of AC/DC’s storied career — and a testament to their enduring power. Fans can expect a night filled with classic headbangers like “Back in Black,” “Thunderstruck,” “Highway to Hell,” and “You Shook Me All Night Long,” mixed in with newer hits such as “Shot In the Dark” and “Demon Fire.”

Guitar god Angus Young, known for his schoolboy uniform and fiery solos, will once again take center stage, joined by frontman Brian Johnson, whose return to touring has energized fans. Johnson was previously sidelined due to hearing issues, but thanks to groundbreaking medical treatments, he’s back doing what he does best — belting out AC/DC’s unmistakable vocals.

Rounding out the lineup are rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, who stepped in for the late Malcolm Young, longtime drummer Matt Laug, and Chris Chaney on bass, filling in for Cliff Williams, who has stepped away from touring.

A Tour for the Ages

Tonight’s show in Minneapolis is the first of 13 stadium dates across North America. After igniting U.S. Bank Stadium, the tour heads west to California, stopping at the iconic Rose Bowl in Pasadena on April 18. The tour will then weave through major cities like Houston, Chicago, and Philadelphia before closing the North American leg in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 28.

What makes this tour even more special is the sense of finality — this isn’t just another tour, it’s the tour. For many fans, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the legendary rockers one last time. AC/DC hasn’t toured the U.S. since 2016, and while the band has remained active in the studio, their live presence has been sorely missed.

Fans Bring the Thunder

In true Minnesota fashion, the Twin Cities have rolled out the red carpet. Rock stations have been playing AC/DC marathons all week, downtown bars are pouring themed cocktails like “Hells Bells Bourbon” and “High Voltage Vodka,” and fans have flown in from across the country — and even abroad — to witness the kickoff.

Local AC/DC tribute bands have been packing clubs in the days leading up to the show, and the stadium itself has been transformed into a temple of rock, complete with pyrotechnics, massive LED walls, and the legendary “Hells Bell” ready to toll.

Jason Larson, a die-hard fan from St. Paul attending his sixth AC/DC show, said, “This is more than a concert — it’s the end of an era. AC/DC has been the soundtrack to my life, and being here for the start of their final tour feels like coming full circle.”

Legends, Forever Immortal

While the tour is billed as their final one, don’t expect AC/DC to fade quietly into the night. Their legacy is already secured — more than 200 million albums sold, a spot in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and a catalog of songs that continue to inspire generations.

If tonight’s show is any indication, the band is going out on top — loud, proud, and still shaking stadiums to their foundations. As Angus Young himself once said, “We just keep playing until the legs fall off.” Judging by the energy in Minneapolis tonight, the legs are still kicking hard.

For fans old and new, tonight isn’t just a concert — it’s history in the making. So, to everyone in Vikings Country: crank it up, throw the horns high, and get ready to ride the lightning one last time with the legends of rock. AC/DC is back — and they’re going out in a blaze of glory.
