Tottenham have confirmed that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris would leave the club after 11 years of service to join Los

Postecoglou also made Fraser Forster his backup option when Lloris failed to secure a move away from north

According to a club statement released on the Tottenham website, Hugo Lloris will leave the club on a permanent

transfer to MLS side Los Angeles FC. Hugo, one of our best servants, is eighth on our all-time appearance list with

447 in all competitions and captain for nine years. He will leave us after an 11-year affiliation to go on a new journey

in America.

Hugo signed from Lyon on August 31, 2012, at the age of 25, with 38 caps for France and competition from Brad

Friedel and Carlo Cudicini. He eventually reached the top rank in November 2012 and has never looked back.

“Fast forward 11 years, and Hugo can reflect with pride on his experience at N17. He was named captain in

November 2014 and carried the armband until an injury cut short his 2022/23 season in early April 2023. He led us

out of the Champions League Final in 2019.

“During that time, he became the first player to reach 300 appearances for us in the Premier League and remains our

leading appearance maker in the competition with 361 – one of only two players to do so, along with Harry Kane.” He

preserved 127 clean sheets, ranking 12th in the league’s all-time list. He is one of only 17 Premier League goalkeepers

to have kept 100 or more clean sheets.

Spurs shared a video on social media showing Lloris saying goodbye to fans after his departure was confirmed. “This

is a personal greeting to all Spurs fans. I just wanted to thank you for all of your support since day one. It has been an

honor to be one of you and one of your captains for many years.
