JUST IN: Spurs unexpectedly reveal a triple January deal…

Tottenham considered a number of center backs before deciding that Dragusin was their first choice. The 21-year-old, who plays international football for Romania, has made an impression after moving on loan from Juventus to Genoa in July 2022.

Spurs quickly came to a mutually beneficial agreement with both Genoa and the player. But when Bayern Munich attempted to sabotage the agreement in the last moments, they were left sweating.

Fortunately for Ange Postecoglou, the Spurs manager, Dragusin kept his word and chose to relocate to North London rather than Bavaria.

At this point, Spurs have verified the defender’s arrival. He’s agreed to a long-term deal that will expire in June 2030, and he’ll wear shirt number six. Spurs acquired Dragusin for €30 million (£25.8 million) from Genoa in order to bolster their roster.

Dragusin went to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Timo Werner. On Tuesday, Werner—who had previously played in the Premier League for Chelsea—joined Spurs on loan from RB Leipzig. For €17 million (£14.6 million), Postecoglou’s team may elect to make the move permanent in the summer.
