JUST NOW: An NFL Playoffs insider takes a jab at Jaire Alexander….

Jaire Alexander, a cornerback for the Green Bay Packers, has excelled for the team’s defense in recent seasons, but at least one insider seems to be unsure about whether he is “fully engaged” with the group going into the NFL playoffs.

Rob Demovsky - ESPN Press Room U.S.

Rob Demovsky of ESPN appeared on 105.3 The Fan earlier this week to promote the Packers’ upcoming wild-card game against the Dallas Cowboys. During the interview, he was candid about Alexander’s projected “weird, weird” 2023 season.

Shan Shariff, the host, requested Demovsky to complete the sentence, saying, “Jaire Alexander is..?

“It’s all about Jaire Alexander,” was Demovsky’s direct response. When questioned if Alexander is a “great” cornerback on the field, he continued to criticize.

“I believe that he will be when he wants to be and when he is really committed, but I’m not sure that’s where he is at the moment. For him, it’s been an extremely strange run. I could also add, “a weird dude,” to complete the statement. He’s changed as a man. Well, I still believe that he is a talented player. I simply don’t know whether he will ever be the same player that he was as an All-Pro in 2020 or 2021.

The statement made by Demovsky that Alexander is “weird” is hardly shocking. It’s not at all horrible that Alexander is strange. He even interrupted a local television reporter’s piece this past week to promote the Packers outside of Lambeau Field. The entire exchange was enjoyable and demonstrated why he is so beloved by many Packers fans.

There are several questions raised by Demovsky’s more critical sections, though. It matters that the longtime reporter, who has spent decades covering the Packers and frequently visits the locker room, openly challenges the former second-team All-Pro cornerback’s level of engagement on a radio show.
