Packers vs. Cowboys: A rematch between two legendary teams in the postseason

Cornerback Jaire Alexander, an All-Pro, injured his ankle during the walkthrough on Wednesday, resulting in a “freaky” injury. Depending on Alexander’s availability on Sunday, Joe Barry might have to change his game plan in the middle of the week due to the injury.

When asked if the Packers need to have two game plans this week because to the uncertainty surrounding Alexander, Barry responded, “Absolutely.” The problem is, losing a player of Jaire’s caliber is never easy.

“From a game plan standpoint, you’d much rather go into Monday and Tuesday as a coaching staff, knowing that he’s not going to be in, instead of something happening in practice. I keep stressing that I’m hoping he walks in alright and that we can follow our plan because of this.

The Most Important Green Bay Packers: Jaire Alexander Is The NFL's Next Great Cornerback

The Packers will start Corey Ballentine in Alexander’s place to play with Carrington Valentine if he is unable to participate. The season-long ailments Alexander has endured and Eric Stokes’ extended absence have resulted in a lot of playing time for Valentine and Ballentine.

Barry remarked, “The guys have filled in.” “Corey and Carrington have performed admirably whenever they have had to enter the game. Naturally, you want Jaire Alexander in your starting lineup every week, but this week, when you’re up against guys like No. 4 (Dak Prescott), 88 (CeeDee Lamb), Brandin Cooks, and the entire team, you really want him. Therefore, I’m praying that he feels better tomorrow and has a quick Friday.

This would be something similar to the Minnesota game from two weeks ago. The Packers faced one of the top receivers in football, Justin Jefferson, while without Alexander (grounded) and Stokes (put on injured reserve). Lamb leads the NFL in catches, and the Packers will have to deal with him against Dallas.
