But some are, without a doubt. And the harder it will be for the Vikings to push their way back into the postseason in a given season, the more of those important expiring contracts they lose. These are the six players Kwesi and company need to re-sign this offseason if winning is the main objective.

Many people were perplexed when Brandon Powell was selected by the Minnesota Vikings ahead of Jalen Reagor following training camp. However, the decision was primarily made by coach Kevin O’Connell to select a player he had confidence in from their time together with the Los Angeles Rams.

Powell demonstrated during the season that he was a competent punt returner, fumbling just once all year. However, Powell also demonstrated his ability to play offensively after suffering injuries, where his quickness and ability to get yards after the catch were useful.

Although Powell is already a favorite of the coaching staff and is unlikely to receive a better offer elsewhere, the Vikings should still add more punt return competition for training camp. Re-signing Powell shouldn’t cost them much.
