Browns add Bill Musgrave, uncle of TE Luke Musgrave, to offensive staff - Dawgs By Nature

Alex Van Pelt, the offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, has left the team, he revealed to ESPN.

“We’re moving on to the next one,” he texted. “I am glad I spent time there.”

Several team sources claim that although Van Pelt and the team talked about redistributing the coaching staff’s positions, they finally made the decision to separate ways.

Early on Wednesday, a representative for the Browns stated that Van Pelt “remains under contract and no final decisions yet.”

The Browns have sacked tight ends coach T.C. McCartney and elected not to extend the contract of running backs coach Stump Mitchell as part of a staff reorganization.

Mitchell joined Cleveland’s staff in 2019, the year before Kevin Stefanski became head coach. Together with Stefanski, McCartney visited Cleveland in 2020.

Van Pelt has been Cleveland’s offensive coordinator since 2020, even though Stefanski is now the team’s primary playcaller. He had previously worked as the quarterbacks coach for the Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals.
