Tyreik McAllister, a wide receiver and returner with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, was signed by the Las Vegas Raiders as a free agent.
Tyreik McAllister, a wide receiver and returner with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, eventually makes an NFL roster following several workouts with NFL organizations. McAllister is one of the three players the Las Vegas Raiders said they will be signing this week.
McAllister had a fantastic debut campaign in the CFL, excelling both on offense and special teams. The explosive 25-year-old threat caught 27 catches for 364 yards and two touchdowns with Hamilton in addition to running the ball 13 times for 52 yards. He averaged 25.3 yards per kickoff return for a total of 1,037 yards on special teams.
Despite going undrafted in 2022, he has experience in the NFL. He signed with the Denver Broncos following the draft, and he was a member of their practice squad for a portion of the 2022 campaign.
McAllister attended the University of Charleston for five seasons as a player. In 38 games, he concluded his career with 1,047 receiving yards and four touchdowns, in addition to 2,561 rushing yards and 26 scores.
After Austin Mack signed with the Atlanta Falcons last week, it marks the second time this offseason that a player from the CFL has signed with an NFL team.
Up until February 13, when the CFL’s free agency signing period starts, CFL players can sign with NFL teams.
