Before the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Buffalo Bills in the 2023 Wild-Card round, one star on their defense is on the rise. and another well-known figure moving in the opposite direction.
The first piece of bad news for the Steelers (10-7) is that head coach Mike Tomlin has announced that Pittsburgh will be without TJ Watt against the Bills (11-5).
For the third time in four seasons, Watt leads the league in sacks with 19. That is a significant loss. In Pittsburgh’s season-ending loss, he suffered a knee injury.
In just four games played, the pass rusher—who is undoubtedly among the top defensive players in the NFL—has created havoc versus Buffalo with 2.5 sacks, nine quarterback hits, three tackles for loss, two passes deflected, and two forced fumbles.
However, according to Steelers Wire, Tomlin expressed confidence about All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick’s (knee) condition. Fitzpatrick may return to go to Buffalo after missing Pittsburgh’s last three games.
During the upcoming week, Bills Wire will offer injury updates for both teams prior to their Wild-Card game.
