The Green Bay Packers’ season came to an end on Saturday night as they lost to the San Francisco 49ers 24–21 in the
playoff divisional round. The Packers possessed the ball and might have tied or taken the lead in the last minute of
an exciting game. Sadly, 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw intercepted quarterback Jordan Love with 46 seconds
remaining, ending the hopes of Green Bay supporters. At that point, San Francisco managed to run out of time. Love
regretted pressing the ball over the center rather than throwing it away after the game. He referred to the choice as a
“mortal sin.”
“I haven’t looked at it yet, I haven’t looked at any pictures,” Love said to the press. “Now that I think about it,
definitely discard it. I’m not sure if I had the chance to run and possibly get out of bounds. However, forcing it
through the middle at a late hour is a deadly sin that has cost us. That’s something I’ll consider, but that’s also a place
where I can reflect on it, learn from it, and improve going forward.”
Love threw two touchdown touchdowns and two interceptions on 21 of 34 passes for 194 yards. The 49ers will host
the NFC championship game next Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET, which will feature the winner of the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers vs Detroit Lions game.
