Late in the fourth quarter, the Packers had a chance to tie the game, but Love ended up throwing a horrendous interception that gave the 49ers the victory.

Following the defeat, Matt LaFleur, the head coach of Green Bay, said the following about his rookie quarterback (via NFL on CBS on Twitter).

“I believe he’s had a fantastic season. Although the outcome may not have been what we had hoped for, I couldn’t be more proud of him for being the guy he is and for leading this team.

Love provided for his club in a number of ways, considering that he had to follow the career of All-Pro signal-caller Aaron Rodgers during his first full season as the starting quarterback for Green Bay.

Clearly not his best game, the Packers quarterback concluded Saturday’s loss to San Francisco with 194 passing yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Love yet has Green Bay in a position to perhaps upset the top-seeded team in the NFC this season in their home stadium despite his problems.

The fact that the Packers ended their 2023 season with a three-point loss to the 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs is a lot better than what most people had in mind for Green Bay given their dismal 2-5 start to the season.

The Packers are among the youngest teams in the NFL, and with Love leading the way, they should have a chance to make the playoffs again in 2024 if they can add some additional quality to their squad this offseason.
