The Wolverines are hoping that their national title run would lead to significant recruitment success.
Michigan absolutely won everything on the field, which will undoubtedly help them win some battles on the trail.
Michigan coaches have never been shy to offer and recruit big fish from all over the country, and Caleb Cunningham,
a five-star wide receiver from Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County, appears to be no exception.
The 6-3, 180-pounder recently turned to Twitter to announce that he had received an offer from the national champions.
It will undoubtedly be difficult for Michigan to travel to Mississippi and recruit one of the best wide receivers in the
country, but the effort is worthwhile, especially following a 15-0 season. It doesn’t hurt that wide receivers coach Ron
Bellamy is from Louisiana. He can absolutely connect to Cunningham’s experience of moving from the deep south to
Ann Arbor. For the time being, most believe Mississippi State is the front-runner for Cunningham, with Ole Miss and
Tennessee also in contention.
Of course, everyone, including Cunningham and other recruits, is waiting to see what happens with Jim Harbaugh.
While he is out interviewing for NFL positions, it is difficult for the other coaches to walk the recruiting route.
Nonetheless, attempts are being made, and everyone is doing their best during these trying times.
