JUST NOW: Michigan head coach terminate his contract…

The deal would have made Harbaugh the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten, and it is the first indication of concern from the Michigan Wolverines about the recent scandal.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Michigan Wolverines have revoked a contract offer to head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh’s deal would have made him the highest-paid football coach in the Big Ten Conference.

The NCAA is investigating Harbaugh, staff member Conner Stalions, and other members of the Wolverines football program for possible scouting violations.

According to the claims, Stallion attended over 30 games involving at least 11 different teams during the last three seasons. Tickets for these games were purchased near midfield and under the Stallion’s own name.

The withdrawn invitation is the first indication of eroding trust in Harbaugh from the University of Michigan since the crisis erupted.

Harbaugh has stated he had no knowledge of the sign-stealing plans.

“I do not have any knowledge or information regarding the University of Michigan football program illegally stealing signals, nor have I directed any staff member or others to participate in an off-campus scouting assignment,” Harbaugh said in an e-mail.

Harbaugh is now in his second season of a five-year deal signed in 2022. Harbaugh will be the head coach of Michigan football until 2026, and the contract is worth $36.7 million over the course of his tenure.

Following the extension, the Wolverines went 13-1 and are now 8-0 after nine weeks of play. Michigan is also the betting favorite to win the 2023 National Championship, according to several bookies.

Given the frequency with which fresh information regarding Michigan’s alleged infractions emerges, it is only a matter of time before another aspect of the ongoing crisis is uncovered.
