Rotherham United’s most recent away defeat was against Watford FC. The 5-0 defeat also resulted in the firing of
their manager, Matt Taylor. Now that Wayne Carlisle has taken over as interim manager, they will face a hungry
Leeds United team when the EFL Championship returns following the November international break.
Leeds United entered the break with 31 points from 16 league games. The only teams ahead of the Whites are
Leicester City and Ipswich Town. Both teams currently have 39 points and are in the automatic promotion spots.
A win for the away team can help them close the gap on automatic promotion, but a win at home can help them
break free from the relegation shackles.
Jordan Hugill from Middlesbrough began to call Rotherham United, a South Yorkshire football club, his home this
January. The centre-forward has played a significant role in this season’s games, appearing in every league game
thus far. Hugill has scored three goals in the ongoing 2023-24 Championship.
This season, the 22-year-old Dutch winger has caused havoc for opposing defences. In 13 league games, Crysencio
Summerville scored 6 goals and assisted 5 others. Summerville is unquestionably one of the most promising players
in English football’s second tier.
The home side, which will no longer be guided by Matt Taylor on the sidelines, has struggled to deal with hamstring
injuries. A group of four players are recovering from it. Tyler Blackett, Sam Clucas, Grant Hall, and Cameron
Humphreys are all suffering with hamstring injuries. In addition, winger Shane Ferguson is recovering from hernia
surgery, while an Achilles tendon ailment will keep Andre Green out of action this season.
Daniel Farke’s men have done well thus far. However, following the November break, Leeds are missing three full-
backs. Left-back Sam Byram, right-back Stuart Dallas, and Djed Spence are all expected to return from their injuries
by mid-December.
