DEAL DONE: Indianapolis Colts has finally won the battle of signing 9 players….

The Indianapolis Colts began their offseason on Monday with multiple roster adjustments, including the signing of nine players to Reserve/Future contracts, according to the team’s announcement.

Along with the nine futures contracts inked, all of which feature players from the practice squad, the Colts signed four players to one-year contract extensions and waived another. So the Colts made a total of 14 moves.

As is customary following the conclusion of the regular season, the Colts will prepare to extend their roster to 90 players for the summer. Much of this entails signing players to futures contracts.

The roster expansion to 90 players does not take effect until the start of the new league year, March 13. That’s why it’s considered a reserve contract. It basically states that the player will be on the 90-man roster when the time comes.

The Colts can have as many futures contracts as they want as long as they stay under the 90-man roster limit when the new league year begins.
