Packers President Issues a Strong Statement Regarding Jordan Love
The Green Bay Packers were a major question mark this season.
The front staff asked the followers to hold strong and believe in their project.
Analysts were also skeptical of their chances of competing, and they did not start well.
They finished the season on a high note, reaching the NFC Divisional Round and nearly defeating the San Francisco 49ers.
Fans were sold on Jordan Love by the end of the season, and he is now eligible for a large contract extension.
With that in mind, CEO Mark Murphy recently reiterated that the franchise is fully committed to the Utah State product and intends to keep him at Lambeau Field indefinitely (via Matt Schneidman).
“We feel confident that Jordan is our quarterback of the future,” Murphy said in a statement.
Love had not showed much promise in his limited playing experience behind Aaron Rodgers, but he made a significant improvement in his first year as a starter.
He was confident and in command, putting the football into tight gaps, throwing inside and outside the numbers, and establishing a great relationship with wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson.
The Packers have a lengthy heritage of producing outstanding quarterbacks.
And, while his career is still in its early stages, the early results have been very promising.
It remains to be seen if they will make him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league or if they will proceed with caution.
