With the 2023 regular season quickly approaching, various media sites have begun previewing the upcoming
campaign by breaking down the finest NFL players.
ESPN is the first to do so, polling a dozen of their NFL experts “to rate players based on performance expectations
for the 2023 season as compared with their peers” to come up with their projections for this year’s top 100 players.
When the final results were in, four Giants players appeared on ESPN’s list.
The top Giant on the list is running back Saquon Barkley, who is ranked 39th.
“Barkley was finally healthy last season, and he looks even better this summer…” noted ESPN’s Jordan Raanan. “The
simple truth is that he has consistently delivered on the field throughout his career. Last season, the Pro Bowler
played 80.2% of offensive snaps, the highest percentage among running backs.
Barkley did not miss any games due to injury in 2022. The 26-year-old running back rushed for a career-high 1,312
yards, ranking fourth in the NFL, and scored 10 touchdowns to go with 57 receptions for 338 yards. He was selected
to the Pro Bowl for the second time in his career and placed third in the NFL’s AP Comeback Player of the Year
