Indianapolis — Drew Ogletree, an Indianapolis Colts tight end, was arrested Friday on domestic abuse charges,
according to court documents.
According to Indiana court documents, Ogletree, 25, was charged with domestic battery in the physical presence of a
kid under the age of 16, as well as domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury. Both constitute felonies.
Ogletree is charged in a probable cause affidavit of body slamming a woman in Hendricks County on Tuesday after
she looked at his phone and realized he was cheating on her, according to The Indianapolis Star.
According to both the woman and Ogletree, she tried to “smack” him but did not succeed. She claimed police that
Ogletree “body slammed” her to the ground. According to the affidavit, Ogletree told investigators that he had
pushed her to the ground.
According to the affidavit, responding police from the Avon Police Department found the victim in pain and unable
to move. She was transported to a hospital to have her injuries examined.
Ogletree was jailed without bond at the Hendricks County Jail on Saturday, according to Deputy Mark Grace. A court
appearance is scheduled for Tuesday. The court also imposed a no-contact order.
According to court records, an attorney representing Ogletree did not immediately reply to messages left by The
Associated Press on Saturday.
The Colts issued a statement confirming that they are aware of the arrest.
“We are aware of the disturbing allegations involving Drew Ogletree,” the statement read. “The team takes these
issues seriously. We have alerted the NFL and are obtaining additional information.
The Colts later issued a statement attributed to an NFL representative, stating that the league had placed Ogletree on
the commissioner’s exempt list.
“Ogletree may not practice or attend games while on the list,” the statement read.
Ogletree was the Colts’ sixth-round pick from Youngstown State in the 2022 draft. He has nine receptions for 147
yards and two touchdowns this season for the 8-7 Colts, who are vying for a postseason spot. On Sunday, the club
plays at home against the Las Vegas Raiders.
