The football community is mourning the death of Kansas City Chiefs superfan Daniel Nelson, often known as the Red Beard or Da Beard, who dyed his beard red for the game.
According to Independence Police, Daniel Nelson, 43, slammed into a railroad bridge west of Noland Road on Monday, December 11, shortly after midnight while driving a Chevrolet on 23rd Street in Independence, Missouri.
According to police, Daniel Nelson, who died at the scene, did not wear a seat belt. As authorities continue to investigate, they have learned that alcohol may have had a role in the deadly crash.
In a Facebook post, the Independence police department identified Daniel Nelson as the victim died in a sad crash on Monday. They wrote this:
“The collision happened when the driver of a Chevrolet Impala was driving west on 23rd Street and struck with the railroad overpass. The motorist died on the scene as a result of injuries. According to the report, “The crash remains under investigation; however, investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor to the crash.”

Christopher Stone, who has known Nelson for ten years through tailgating at Chiefs games, told KCTV that Nelson is a father who works as an electrician when he is not at the games.
“He was such a hard-working guy,” Stone said. “He was up at the crack of dawn every day, meticulously organized, and devoted to his art. He was a unionized electrician, but he still helped me.”
