“Wylie excelled at Granite Bay High School in Sacramento, California, and Fresno State before running an excellent
4.36 40-yard sprint at the 2012 NFL Combine.
“Speed kills. “That’s how I’ll make it in professional baseball,” he once told the Sacramento Bee.
Wylie was picked in the fourth round by the Chiefs and appeared in six games as a rookie in 2012, catching six
catches for 53 yards while also returning kicks and punts. He appeared in two games for the Titans in 2013.
After being hired to the San Francisco 49ers’ practice squad in December of that year, the well-traveled Wylie told
the Bee, “I know a lot of clubs have been putting me on to these practice squads, basically as an extended tryout. And
for one reason or another, they need to bring in another guy because someone is injured. And I am booted. “If they
keep me, they will get my best.”
In 2016, Wylie has 14 receptions for 166 yards and a score with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football
League.
