The Baltimore Ravens signed Jake Funk, 25, a Montgomery County native, to its practice squad, the team announced
on Tuesday.
The running back previously played football at Damascus High School in Gaithersburg and the University of
Maryland. Then, he was drafted in the seventh round by the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 and won a Super Bowl with
the team in 2022.
He was waived from the team last October and has since been playing on different practice squads, including the
New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins.

19500 block of Waters Rd. in Germantown, according to Montgomery County police.
Officers arrived at the location about 9:30 a.m. that day and discovered a guy with a gunshot wound. He was then
brought to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
McRoy was charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault, and other firearms-related offenses and is being
held without bond, according to police. His attorney’s information is not available in digital court documents.
Protesters gathered outside the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) board building in Rockville on Tuesday,
urging them to reinstate teachers who had been placed on leave due to statements about the Israeli war.
Around 50 individuals attended the calm protest, waving posters like “Stop criminalizing dissent” and “MCPS stand
by your staff.”
Last Monday, the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) of Greater Washington issued a statement
supporting MCPS’ decision to place the instructors on administrative leave.
