Aaron Rodgers has agreed to a contract deal with the Green Bay Packers that will allegedly make him the highest-

Atlanta’s Matt Ryan set prior records for annual pay ($30 million) and guaranteed money ($94.5 million).

Rodgers later posted on Instagram on Wednesday (Thursday AEST) with a photo of himself from 2005 draft day and

a comment reading: “It’s been an amazing ride the last 13 years; excited to start year 14 knowing that my future is

here, in Green Bay, for our 100th season.” I grew up in this place, becoming older and wiser along the way.

“Thank you to our fantastic fan base for motivating us players to improve year after year. Thank you to the Packers

organization for consistently supporting me and allowing me to manage this football team. And thank you to all of

my colleagues, past and present, who have had such a wonderful impact on my life and provided me with lifelong

connections. Looking forward to creating more great moments this year and in the years to come….

According to various estimates, Rodgers will be paid more than $80 million by March. According to NFL Network’s

Mike Garafolo, Rodgers received a $57.5 million signing bonus.

Shortly before Jones tweeted the news, ESPN’s Adam Schefter claimed that Rodgers and the Packers were likely to

sign a record-breaking contract deal by the conclusion of the weekend. Schefter later revealed that the arrangement

included $103 million basically guaranteed and $67 million due by the end of 2018.

Rodgers, 34, still had two years remaining on his deal, which means he is now under contract until 2023. He’ll turn

40 in December of that year.
