SAD NEWS: Crystal Palace’s manager has been fired for…

Crystal Palace will have a chance to hire manager Oliver Glasner as Roy Hodgson’s replacement in the future.

That is at least according to SportBILD, which claims that a move to the Premier League ‘appeals’ to the 49-year-old

if the offer is right.

According to reports in England, Glasner is one of several possibilities under consideration by Crystal Palace as a

replacement for Hodgson.

The veteran manager has come under increasing criticism in recent months as Crystal Palace has struggled to pick

up points and moved closer to the relegation zone.

Those in command at Selhurst Park appear to be considering a change, and Glasner is one of the names on the list,

according to reports.

Sport BILD features him today as part of a look at many managers who are currently out of work, explaining that

since leaving Eintracht Frankfurt last summer, he has been enjoying life and recharging his batteries in preparation

for his next position.

The Austrian has not set a return date and says it will be ‘totally contingent on the offer’. In August, he turned down a

financially advantageous offer from Al-Shabab, and Nottingham Forest expressed interest but did not proceed.

Crucially, ‘England generally appeals to him’, which means Crystal Palace has a good chance of signing him if they

make the appropriate deal.

It remains to be seen whether they do, but if they decide to leave Hodgson, the option is undoubtedly available to

them.
