Tight end acquired by Georgia football via the transfer site

After Brock Bowers, Georgia football has added a tight end from California, but this time it came through the transfer site.

On February 9, Benjamin Yurosek, a former tight end for Stanford, announced his move to the Bulldogs. Pete Thamel, a senior writer for ESPN, announced the news on Instagram.

Yurosek was ranked as the 101st-best prospect in the transfer portal and as the sixth-best tight end by 247Sports. Yurosek played for the Cardinals for four seasons, with his best years coming in his second and third stints.

Following his junior season, the AP selected Yurosek a tight end on the All-Pac-12 second team, and following his sophomore season, he was named to the All-Pac-12 first team. In addition, Yurosek took home the Frank Rehm Award and the Deswarte-Eller Award, which are given to the best “big game performances” and the best sophomore at Stanford, respectively.

This past season, Yurosek struggled with an upper-body injury that kept him out of action for the majority of the campaign. As a result, he only caught 16 receptions for 239 yards and one touchdown. In 2021, he had his finest statistical season with 43 receptions, 658 yards, and three touchdowns to lead the squad.

Yurosek finished with 1,342 receiving yards and five touchdowns during his time at Stanford. During his tenure with the Cardinals, he also finished with 114 rushing yards.

Yurosek is more well-known for his ability to catch passes than for blocking them. But with Bowers gone, Yurosek might end up being a useful addition to the squad. Oscar Delp, Lawson Luckie, and Pearce Spurlin, who are all returnees, will team up with Yurosek, who will probably compete with Delp and
