Ray Lewis III, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Ray Lewis, died from a fatal cocktail of narcotics in his system,
according to an autopsy report obtained by PEOPLE.
Ray III died of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine intoxication, according to findings released on July 23 by
Medical Examiner Districts 5 and 24 in Florida. The mode of death was judged accidental.
According to a Casselberry Police Department report obtained by PEOPLE, Ray III, 28, was found unresponsive in a
central Florida residence on June 14. According to officials, narcotics and alcohol were found at the site. The things
discovered were an anti-anxiety medicine, a used needle, and a plastic bag near a beer can.
An officer provided police “department-issued Narcan” to Ray III for opiate overdose treatment, but he did not
respond.
According to the police report, he was brought to Advent Health Hospital in Altamonte Springs by the Seminole
County Fire Department and later pronounced dead.
The Casselberry Police Department wrote in a statement to PEOPLE at the time: “This investigation has been closed.
This occurrence appears to have been a sad accident, based on facts and witness statements. Our condolences go out
to the Lewis family and friends.
Ray III’s funeral was place on June 24 at Calvary Orlando church in Florida, according to social media posts. His
father was a Baltimore Ravens linebacker and Super Bowl champion.
