For the first time since Jim Harbaugh departed Michigan for the NFL, a potential impact player has elected to go
through the transfer portal.
This is a bummer. There is no other way to slice it.
According to various rumors, rising junior defensive back Keon Sabb has decided to use the transfer site.
Sabb was a big time recruit and a great win on the trail for Michigan two cycles ago, so this one hurts from an optics
sense. It also hurts since Sabb showed signs of being a very good college safety and a member of Michigan’s
potentially strong secondary. Sabb, who is 6 feet 1 inch and weighs 208 pounds, has outstanding size and length and
can run really well. With Rod Moore and Makari Paige back, Sabb may have expected to see less playing time in year
three. Outsiders saw things differently when Sabb was penciled in as a member of a secondary capable of making
numerous plays.
