Last year, five former Tennessee Volunteers were taken in the 2023 NFL Draft, with three going in the first three
rounds. Darnell Wright, the 10th overall pick, led the way for the Chicago Bears. This year, Tennessee took a step
back on the field, and the draft results will reflect that.
Instead of Hendon Hooker remaining in the top of the third round last year, Joe Milton will almost definitely wait
until Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft to hear his name called. Milton, who was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine at
Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, was the only Tennessee player invited to the Senior Bowl; Jabari Small and
McCallan Castles, who played in the East-West Shrine Bowl, were not invited.
That does not look good for Small and Castles’ draft stock as they progress through the draft process. Their next
opportunity to exhibit their ability to NFL teams will be at Tennessee’s Pro Day, but Jaylen Wright and Kamal
Hadden have a chance to move up draft boards at the combine. The Vols who were invited are listed below, along
with information on how to watch them.
