Tennessee received some awful news today: one of their top players is undergoing season-ending surgery. That
player is Kamal Hadden, a cornerback.
Kamal Hadden, a redshirt senior, has had an impressive season so far. Many people considered him to be statistically
among the top five. He made three interceptions and seven pass deflections in seven games.
He suffered a shoulder injury while attempting to tackle an Alabama player early in the game. He did not enter the
injury tent until later, after the crimson tide had scored, and he was plainly frustrated. Hadden returned in the third
quarter, although just for a short time before leaving the game permanently.
The excellent cornerback stated earlier today that he would be undergoing surgery, therefore ending his season
earlier this morning. A significant question for the Volunteer Corner is: where will he go next? Time will tell, given
that this was his final year of eligibility this season. Hadden posted on Instagram, “The get-back starts now.” It is
reasonable to assume that the redshirt senior cornerback will be missed in orange and white, but Vol Nation will
band together to support him during this difficult time, as he had become one of the team’s fan favorites for many.
Best of luck, Kamal Hadden.
