The Dallas Cowboys have been asked to apologize to inhabitants of a beachside city northwest of Los Angeles, where the NFL team is having its training camp this summer.
Homeowners in Oxnard say the Cowboys have gone too far since arriving in town this week for preseason workouts and erecting a tent higher than the brick wall separating homes from the gridiron at River Ridge Playing Fields.
Furthermore, they claim to have been unaware of the tent’s installation, despite the fact that street view images show it against multiple rear fences of nearby properties.
Naturally, many residents are researching local privacy, safety, and property laws while they consider whether to register a complaint with city officials.
‘To wake up on a Saturday with your pajamas on and a whole bunch of folks peering [in from] outside, that’s pretty rude,’ Shalea Thompson, a resident near the fields, told KXAS.
‘My daughter and I were in our pajamas, and we had to rush upstairs because there were a swarm of men staring into our home, perhaps not on purpose, but nevertheless.
‘No one realized there would be a structure built.’
A resident’s Ring camera captured video of over a dozen Cowboys staff workers and players heading up a flight of steps to get on the ten’s platform deck, with a number of them gazing into surrounding residences.
Several locals told The Dallas Morning News that the tent is also blocking their view from their second-story windows, which usually includes the field and a nearby golf course.
