As the last whistle of the 2023 NFL season blew, San Francisco 49ers players flocked to social media to offer their
thoughts on the season.
From achieving lofty goals to the season’s most difficult moments, and everything in between, the players’ posts
showed how great this year was. With lessons learned and memories cherished, the squad celebrated achieving the
pinnacle of professional football: the Super Bowl. Their impassioned sentiments reflected up the significance of the
2023 season and its unique place in the hearts of the Faithful.
Brown IV (6-5, 270) was originally selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the fifth round (174th overall) of the 2021
NFL Draft. Following his release from the Rams on August 31, 2021, he joined the team’s practice squad the next
day. Brown has made 14 tackles in 12 games (three starts) throughout his three-year tenure with the Rams (2021-
23). Brown played seven games in 2023 and made five tackles.
Coaching changes have been made as the San Francisco 49ers wrap up the 2023 season and prepare for the
offseason. On Wednesday, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that Steve Wilks had been dismissed of his duties as
defensive coordinator. Wilks was hired last offseason to replace DeMeco Ryans, who took over as head coach of the
Houston Texans, and he came to the Bay after serving as interim head coach of the Carolina Panthers at the
conclusion of 2022.
