Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt exited Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens with a left knee injury and did not return.
Watt went down in the third quarter after colliding with teammate Montravius Adams’ leg. Watt exited the field on his own, although with some assistance from the Steelers’ medical team.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported to X that the Steelers’ defensive standout may have sustained an MCL sprain and requested to return to the game, but the team’s medical staff denied Watt’s request. Watt will undergo more testing to establish the severity of the injury.
According to sources, the Steelers believe Defensive Player of the Year candidate T.J. Watt suffered a sprained MCL against the Ravens and will undergo further testing. Watt wanted to return to the game despite his injuries, but the Steelers would not let it.
Watt currently leads the NFL with 19 sacks, adding two more during Saturday’s game before leaving.
