Ravens coach John Harbaugh, entering final year of deal, expected to sign contract extension – Baltimore Sun

The Ravens failed to secure contract extensions with four key players by Monday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline, and all four will become free agents when the new league year begins on March 13.

Guard Kevin Zeitler, running back Gus Edwards, and defensive backs Rock Ya-Sin and Geno Stone will all be free agents next month. Baltimore will pay a $8.3 million dead cap penalty due to the four players’ absence of new contracts.

Zeitler is one of the oldest starting offensive lineman, having completed his third season in Baltimore and 12th overall. Nonetheless, he is performing at what may be his career peak.

Zeitler had one of his best seasons as a contract player. And he did it by missing only two games this season and four in the previous three years.

Last season, Stone led the AFC with seven picks and was a key member of defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald’s team, which led the league in multiple categories. Stone, 24, will be hoping for a huge money in his next contract, and the Ravens may be out if the price isn’t reasonable.
