This season, the Newman Smith (Carrollton, TX) star has averaging 14.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.

However, without Codie on the court, Newman Smith fell in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday.

Depending on the severity of the injury, Codie may miss the start of offseason exercises once he arrives to the Forty

Acres, though further information will be required to determine for certain.

Guards Tre Johnson (Dallas) and Cam Scott (Lexington, S.C.) will join Codie as headliners for a 2024 recruiting class

that is presently ranked ninth overall in 247Sports’ 2024 team recruitment rankings.

Codie paid an unofficial visit to the Forty Acres in June before his formal visit to Austin on September 15.

According to 247 Sports’ composite rankings, the 6-9, 200-pound Codie is the No. 10 power forward in the country

and the No. 1 overall in Texas. He was receiving offers from other top institutions such as Miami, Kansas, Texas

Tech, Auburn, Houston, LSU, Alabama, and others.
