Rashan Gary, the Green Bay Packers’ outside linebacker, has agreed to a four-year contract extension, which is good
news for a team that has lost four straight games.
Gary announced the four-year, $107 million contract deal, which included a $34.6 million signing bonus, on social
media. The Packers announced the agreement later Monday, but did not reveal the details.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Gary can earn $107 million until the conclusion of a contract that
now extends through 2027 since he is collecting approximately $96 million in extra money in addition to his $10.8
million pay in 2023. The individual spoke with the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the team
has not published the terms.
“Man, it just makes me hungrier,” Gary told reporters Monday. “The organization that believed in me, trusted me
and sees my growth from when I came in and sees the man that I’m still becoming and the player that I’m working to
become and still on the rise to become, for them to see that and bless me, man, I’m in awe, bro.”
This agreement provides the struggling Packers (2-5) a long-term commitment from one of their top overall players.
If Gary does not sign an extension, he would be eligible for free agency at the end of the season.
Gary claimed he signed the agreement on Sunday.
“To be honest, it really hasn’t hit me yet,” Gary went on to say. “I’ve signed. It was a fantastic moment. It was
excellent for me. I was lucky to have my mother and sister in town, and we dubbed ourselves ‘The Three Musketeers.’
For me to sign a contract that means so much to my loved ones, my foundation, words cannot express how I feel.”
