After discovering the news about Stafford, his wife sent a statement on social media in which she expressed her
concern for Matthew and stated that she suffers from severe headaches.
“If you’ve ever listened to my podcast, you understand how important it is to me,” Kelly wrote on Wednesday. “The
head is not something to be messed with… and I hope as this sport develops, so does the concern for head health and
the research around it.”
And no, I am not okay. I have every emotion coursing through me. Concerned, indignant, heartbroken, and
exhausted…all of them.”
Kelly Stafford went to the doctor after experiencing dizziness and other bodily irregularities. Unfortunately for her
and her family, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which deepened her bond with Matthew.
Kelly informed U.S. media that the football star was an excellent caregiver throughout the process. In 2019, she had
a successful tumor removal surgery. He then underwent extensive therapy, including relearning how to walk.
“I worried for my life, and I felt it was all going to end. My family’s devotion motivated me to keep fighting, but it was
a long time of fear. “It was very complicated to go through all of this,” Kelly remarked in a special broadcast on ESPN
a few months ago.
