Maguire previously told Football Insider that City will seek legal counsel against the Premier League following the decision.

City’s deals with Abu Dhabi have come under investigation because of their shared links to club ownership, particularly the £68 million per season deal with Etihad.

Etihad signed a front-of-shirt sponsorship agreement with the team, as well as stadium naming rights.

Maguire believes City will maintain their ‘fundamental relationship’ with Abu Dhabi despite the additional limits imposed by top-tier teams.

“We recently saw a report that Manchester City were the most popular Premier League club in the United States,” Maguire told Sean Fisher from Football Insider.

“Part of this is because the United States loves a winner, and Manchester City is a chronic winner.

“There is no doubt that Manchester City has increased the diversity of their commercial partners and sponsors.

“They have relationships with Nissan and Nexen Tyres, among others, which serve to increase their revenue.
