Cornerback Josh Norman’s stunning adventure into free agency has come to an end, as the All-Pro defensive back

has agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins, the organization announced.

The news was previously reported by NFL Network’s Rand Getlin and Ian Rapoport on Friday.

According to Rapoport, the contract is for $75 million over five years, with $50 million guaranteed. However, Albert

Breer of the NFL Network stated that $36.5 million is fully guaranteed. Breer said on Saturday that Norman will

receive $500,000 in per-game roster incentives in 2017, with the last of his $13.5 million injury guarantee expiring

in March 2018.

According to Michael Ginnitti of Spotrac, Norman’s contract carries a $8 million cap charge next season, $20 million

in 2017, and $17 million in 2018.

According to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, the Carolina Panthers made Norman a four-year offer of $44

million.

The Panthers startled the football world Wednesday by rescinding Norman’s franchise tag due to a lack of progress

toward a long-term contract. This made the 28-year-old veteran an unrestricted free agent.

According to Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review, after the organization informed Norman’s agent, Michael George,

that the franchise tag was being rescinded, George called Norman, who “immediately contacted” the Panthers and

offered to accept the franchise tender. However, Carolina had already completed the paperwork.
