Dan Campbell may have spent over two decades in the NFL, but his marriage to his wife is his longest collaboration.
The Detroit Lions’ head coach has been married to Holly Campbell for more than 20 years. The couple has two children, Cody and Piper, and moved to Detroit, Michigan, together after Dan was hired as a coach in 2021.
Dan hoped to receive an interview for the role when it first opened in 2018, but it wasn’t his time, he told The Athletic in August 2022.
“You kind of go through that feeling that the one job I really wanted is the one I’m never going to get,” Holly told the site about his reaction to not getting the role.
However, they remained optimistic that his opportunity would arise, and it did, just a few years later. Holly is now content to cheer on Dan and the Lions from the sidelines.
So, who is Daniel Campbell’s wife? Here’s all you should know about Holly Campbell and her relationship with the NFL coach.
The Lions coach and his wife married in 1999, the same year he was picked by the New York Giants in the third round.
Campbell played in the NFL for ten years before transitioning to coaching, beginning as an assistant coach with the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints before joining the Lions.
Dan and Holly have two children since their marriage: son Cody and daughter Piper.
Cody grew up playing football and attended Trinity University until graduating in May 2022, according to LinkedIn. He presently attends the University of Michigan and is seeking a master’s degree in business analytics.
Cody shares his father’s enthusiasm for working in the NFL, having interned with the Saints and Lions.
Piper is still in high school and is very proud of her father’s work with the Lions. Piper sent a touching homage to Dan on Instagram in January 2023, expressing her love for her father and looking forward to his future with the club.
