Only a few days after the Vols secured a commitment from 2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre, offensive lineman Javontez
Spraggins revealed that he will return for his super senior season in 2024.
Spraggins, a former three-star recruit from East Saint Louis, Illinois, signed with the Vols during the 2020 recruiting cycle.
The seasoned offensive lineman played 11 games at right guard for Tennessee in 2023 before suffering a season-ending injury that
kept him out of the team’s final two games (against. Vanderbilt and Iowa).
Spraggins started 36 games as right guard for Tennessee under Josh Heupel. In 2024, he will resume his position as right guard.
Spraggins’ return gives the Vols an offensive line that will likely include Cooper Mays at center, John Campbell at right tackle, and
LSU transfer Lance Heard at left tackle. That leaves only left guard as an open position, with Andrej Karic, Jackson Lampley, and
Vysen Lang vying for the job.
