The Green Bay Packers may be terrific right now, but the Kansas City Chiefs have established one of the greatest dynasties in sports
history. Unlike many other dynasties, it is not based solely on one athlete. Sure, Patrick Mahomes is important, and without him, the
team would be regular 11-5 wild card candidates, just as they were with Alex Smith.
However, like the Golden State Warriors, the Chiefs would be nothing without Mahomes, much as the Warriors would be without
Curry. Similar to the Warriors, other superstars will be inducted into the Hall of Fame regardless of the team they played for.
Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Chris Jones are unquestionably among the Chiefs. At this point, they’ll all make it into the Hall of Fame,
most likely on the first ballot.
Many Chiefs fans remain in a joyful mood. Those who have already sobered up are concerned about where Chris Jones will go. Will he
go somewhere with some cap room and young talent, possibly Green Bay?
The Packers’ cap situation isn’t ideal right now, but it’s anticipated to change several times in the coming months. Rashan Gary’s
contract has just been reworked, bringing the current cap space to $10 million.
That alone would not suffice to bring Jones down right now. However, with numerous veterans, including David Bahktiari, in talks to
be cut (saving $21 million in Bahktiari’s case) and other veterans potentially having their contracts reworked, the sky is the limit for
who Green Bay may sign.
