The Eagles return to action this week, against a very tough Colts club. As I do every week, I was able to interview a blogger from the
opposite side. This week, I was fortunate to speak with the lads from 18to88.com about the impending matchup.
We talked about Peyton Manning, Michael Vick, and several matchups to keep an eye on throughout the game. Enjoy!
18to88: I am more of a “tier” guy. I do not think you can distinguish between John Unitas and Joe Montana. Manning, in my
opinion, will be among the top players. Not because of his statistics, which will be unsurpassed, but because he was able to play
quarterback in a unique fashion that changed the game.
18to88: I don’t believe that any year that you don’t win the championship is a failure; nevertheless, every year that Peyton plays, the
team has a legitimate chance at winning it all.
All Colts teams finish about 12-4, but some are far better than others. Most fans will tell you that the 2008 team was quite weak,
whereas the 2007 team was better than the 2009 team until injuries dragged them down. The 2006 Colts are not regarded as the
best of the group.
So, when you’ve won a title with “not your best team,” it gives you optimism every season that if you get the breaks in the playoffs,
you can
18to88: In the long run, Dallas Clark’s injury will be the answer, but it is too early (one game) to predict how it will play out. For the
time being, Melvin Bullitt’s injury is the main concern. Colts supporters anticipated to lose Bob Sanders, but no one was concerned
because of Bullitt.
