In a statement acknowledging his death, the team stated: “On Monday, January 15, Carles [Falcón] departed us.
“The medical team determined that the neurological damage caused by cardiorespiratory arrest at the time of the accident was
irreversible.”
“Carles was a happy person who was always busy and genuinely enjoyed whatever he did, especially motorcycling.
“He left us to race the Dakar, which was his dream. He was having fun and was content while riding his bike.
“We must remember him for his smile and the delight he brought to everyone.
“He was a computer engineer by trade, a motorcycle teacher, and a motorcycle trip guide by heart.
“Many have learned at his side. He taught with compassion, energy, and joy, and he made everyone appreciate their bikes.
“This is what he has left us with, and it will always be with us, those of us who were close to him, family, friends, coworkers, and
admirers.
“On behalf of the family and team, we respectfully request that the acts of farewell held in the following days remain private. “Thank
you for your understanding.”
