The Green Bay Packers had the youngest offense in the NFL in 2023 and fell just short of the NFC Championship
Game, indicating a significant offseason change on that side of the ball.
If general manager Brian Gutekunst and his team want it, Green Bay can make a blockbuster trade for Cincinnati
Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. The Bengals used the franchise tag to keep Higgins, a former second-round
choice, under contract until 2025 for $21.8 million. However, when speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Cincinnati’s
long-time director of player personnel Duke Tobin kept the door open to trading Higgins for the appropriate offer.
“He fits us perfectly, so we tagged him for that reason,” Tobin stated during the NFL Combine in Indianapolis on
February 27, according to ESPN. “The hypotheticals of what could happen, you know, it’s hard for me to comment
on.”
That is a significant departure from Tobin’s comments at last year’s combine, when he advised clubs interested in
trading for Higgins to “go find your own” wide receiver.
Tobin’s shift to significantly softer and more open wording sparked speculation among several NFL pundits and fans
about who would enter the game for an elite player like Higgins, who has WR1 potential. Peter Bukowski of Locked
on Packers was among those who shared their perspectives.
