The Pittsburgh Steelers are slated to speak with three more offensive assistants as they seek to expand their staff.
The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t done interviewing for their offensive staff. After the hire of Arthur Smith as offensive
coordinator, the team is set to meet with three more candidates for assistant roles.
The Steelers are set to meet with Los Angeles Chargers passing game specialist Tom Arth, Tennessee Titans
quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator Charles London and New York Jets wide receivers coach Zach Azzani,
according to league sources.
He served as quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for the Titans in 2023.
Azzani is the lone contender who lacks NFL passing game coordinator experience, although he has plenty at the
collegiate level. He formerly worked as a wide receivers coach with the Bears (2017), Denver Broncos (2018-2022),
and the Jets in 2023.
He was a passing game coordinator in the NCAA for Florida in 2010 and Tennessee from 2015 to 2016. He was also
Western Kentucky’s offensive coordinator in 2011 and Central Michigan’s associate head coach from 2007 to 2009.
At his year-end press conference, head coach Mike Tomlin stated that he anticipates changes to the team’s coaching
staff. It’s unclear whether any future additions would displace a coach from his current position or if a hire would
take on a separate offensive assistant role.
