In the instance of Super Bowl 2024, which took place three weeks ago at Allegiant Stadium, a foreign faction was
particularly interested in the NFL’s biggest game, which was won by the Kansas City Chiefs over the San Francisco
49ers.
Those involved in Australia’s National Rugby League (NRL) were glued to their TVs and streaming gadgets because
their product was about to be exhibited on the same turf where Patrick Mahomes worked his magic for the Chiefs in
21 days.
On Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium, the Manly Sea Eagles will face the South Sydney Rabbitohs, while the
Brisbane Broncos will face the Sydney Roosters.
And the fact that they would be exhibiting their talents on the same field as one of the world’s largest athletic
spectacles has not gone unnoticed by the four teams’ players.
“Being able to play on the same field as the Super Bowl a few weeks ago is incredible,” Rabbitohs player Damien
Cook told The Post. “We watched the game together as a team. We also have a large number of NFL supporters
around the league (NRL). As an athlete, playing on the same grounds is unique.”
Cook has been an Eagles fan since he was a kid and has only attended one NFL game in person, a 49ers game at the
old Candlestick Park.
“To be playing in the same stadium where the Super Bowl was recently played is unbelievable, man,” Manly’s Aaron
Woods told The Post. “I never would have believed in my lifetime—and this is my 14th year playing.
