With up to ten Leeds players out of contract next year, we decided to check at their current situations and if they can
realistically be expected to stay with the club…
The prospects of Cody Drameh signing to new terms at Elland Road are slim.
For whatever reason, the youthful right-back has frequently been a peripheral figure for Leeds, failing to deliver the
same performances as he did while on loan at Cardiff City and Luton Town.
Drameh was brought on and then taken off in the space of 21 minutes during last weekend’s 4-3 victory against
Ipswich Town, and he has lately left on his third loan term, this time to Birmingham City.
Make no mistake, that will be his final one from Leeds.
Similarly, German international Robin Koch is currently on loan at Leeds but will not return.
Koch, one of many high-profile players to seek pastures new following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship, is back
on loan in his native Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt, and with his contract expiring next summer, he will leave
Leeds permanently.
However, unlike the aforementioned trio, that should happen before his contract expires next summer, since the
winger ruled himself out of competition for Daniel Farke, Wilfried Gnonto, and Luis Sinisterra earlier this summer.
Costa, on the other hand, has had to train alone without a club while Gnonto has been reintroduced into the first
squad and Sinisterra has finally been granted his wish of remaining in the top level by signing for Bournemouth.
However, according to Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post, Costa is still anticipated to leave soon, maybe
via a transfer to Saudi Arabia.
Costa, who was on loan with Al Ittihad last season, could return to Saudi Arabia soon, given their transfer window
runs beyond the European deadline.
A catastrophe signing that all sides hope to forget as soon as possible, but Leeds could have him on their books until
2024 if a settlement isn’t reached immediately.
