Jos Verstappen reportedly informed pals that Max Verstappen may be forced to leave Red Bull following a meeting
with Mercedes boss Toto Wolff.
While Wolff has downplayed the public meeting with Jos, there is widespread speculation that the reigning world
champion is being considered as a successor for Lewis Hamilton.
According to The Telegraph, Jos has indicated that his son may leave Red Bull if the Christian Horner matter is not
resolved.
Max won the season-opener in Bahrain by more than 20 seconds ahead of teammate
As a result, it appears that he will easily win the title in 2024, becoming a four-time champion.
While everything is going well for Red Bull on the track, the situation is quite different off the track.
Before the first race of the year, team chief Horner was exonerated of any wrongdoing after allegations of
inappropriate behavior surfaced.
The drama hasn’t ended there, as suspected evidence has been leaked to F1’s accredited media and senior executives,
though its legitimacy has yet to be confirmed.
The current issue may have strained Red Bull internally, or at least Horner’s relationship with Jos.
Jos stated on Saturday that there is “tension” among the squad, and that Red Bull is at risk of being “torn apart” as a
result of the Horner scandal.
