A birthday may be a great occasion, but it does not prevent business from being conducted. Simply ask linebacker
Jonathan Garvin about it.
Garvin turned 24 on Friday, and the Packers wished him a happy birthday via tweet in the morning. However, the
show must go on, as coach Matt LaFleur told reporters during his press conference that Green Bay released Garvin
only three hours after the social media account issued the birthday message.
When fans saw what Green Bay done, they weighed in on the choice to let Garvin go on his day of celebration.
Garvin was selected in the seventh round of the 2020 draft by the Packers from Miami, and he has spent the last
three seasons with the team. Garvin has appeared in 38 games, including one start, and has 32 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
